April 28, 2011 – Hair Club® is proud to announce it will be the Title Sponsor of the Trichotillomania Learning Center Conference for the 8th consecutive year. The conference will take place in San Francisco, California, April 29 through May 1. This year’s conference marks the 18th annual event, which the Trichotillomania Learning Center (TLC) founded to share the latest research, treatment options, and resources with sufferers of trichotillomania and skin picking disorder.
Trichotillomania (often called “TTM” or “trich”) is an impulse control disorder that causes afflicted individuals to pull out hair from various places on their bodies, resulting in noticeable bald spots. This impulse causes those with the condition to have noticeable bald patches in various areas.
The conference offers treatment information and support both for TTM sufferers and their families, with more than 50 workshops. Those with Trichotillomania are offered self-esteem building workshops and have the opportunity to meet others who have the same condition. Family members can learn more about helping their loved ones with their conditions and about hair replacement options.
Workshops at the TLC Conference touch on issues such as skin picking and hair pulling. There are workshops for sufferers of all ages, and hair loss solution experts, such as Hair Club®, are available to speak with individuals about solutions to TTM.
Hair Club® offers personalized hair loss treatment options for men, women, and children with Trichotillomania. Representatives at the conference will be on hand to speak with conference attendees about their treatment options, as well as inform attendees of the latest advancements in hair replacement technology.
In addition to educating attendees on hair replacement technology, Hair Club® will host a speaking event discussing Trichotillomania. Current employee and Trichotillomania sufferer Ashley Rich will be speaking about her struggles with TTM at the conference. Furthermore, TLC will be presenting Hair Club® an award for its long-standing service to the trich community.
The Trichotillomania Learning Center is a non-profit organization devoted to ending the suffering caused by hair pulling disorder and skin picking disorder. TLC helps people of all ages with treatment referrals, information, support groups, and research into a cure. The Center is celebrating its 20th Anniversary at this conference.
