A lot was happening at this year’s 20th Annual Meeting of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons, and Hair Club Medical Group® was getting their fair share of attention.
First, Dr. Jeff Donovan was recognized with two awards this year in the Bahamas. He received a research grant from the ISHRS to study the best method of performing hair transplants in women with a hair loss condition known as frontal fibrosing alopecia. Dr. Donovan also received an award for the “Best Practical Tip” for his presentation entitled “Scalp Burning and Pain: How Important is it to Ask?” In his presentation, Dr. Donovan showed that patients with scalp burning and pain are not always good candidates for hair transplant surgery because they may have other scalp diseases.
Dr. Jonathan Ballon served on the faculty last year. This year he was asked to chair this year’s Basics Course–a key component of the Annual Scientific Meeting. Geared toward the beginner, the Basics Course is intended to be a daylong overview of the core principles and skills of hair restoration surgery.
“I think it’s nice that Hair Club and its surgeons are being taken seriously by our professional society and how nice it is to share this information with the entire company,” states Dr. Ballon.
Dr. Robert Niedbalski presented a talk at the ABHRS Advanced Board Review Course titled “Perisurgical Drug Management & Safety”. He also presenting a talk in the general session “The use of Urinary Bladder Matrix for the treatment of eyebrow hypotrichosis”.
Dr. Dan Didocha participated in the Advanced Review course in two capacities.
